PLEASE TAKE NOTICE that I, Blake Savoy, the undersigned Tax Collector for the Town of Danby, County of Tompkins, State of New York have duly received the Tax Roll and Warrant for the collection of taxes for the year 2026. Please see Property Tax Collection for details on all available payment methods. Tax collection will occur at Danby Town Hall (1830 Danby Road, Ithaca, NY 1485). Collection hours in January are Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays & Fridays from 11AM-4PM, and Tuesday from 11AM-6PM, excluding holidays.
Taxes must be paid on or before February 2 to avoid late fees. Interest equal to 1% of the unpaid balance will be added to your total due on February 3, and again on March 3. Upon returning taxes to Tompkins County after April 1, an additional fee of five percent (5%) will be added plus interest at the rate of one percent (1%).
You may choose to pay in two installments. The first installment payment plus a 2.5% service charge must be paid to the Danby Tax Collector on or before February 2, 2026. To avoid additional penalties, the second installment must be paid to Tompkins County on or before July 1, 2026.
Property Owners are responsible for tax payments even if they did not receive their tax bill. If you live or own a residence in Danby and do not receive your tax bill, please call or email the Tax Collector’s Office at 607-277-4788 or clerkoffice@danby.ny.gov. NO POSTDATED CHECKS OR PARTIAL PAYMENTS WILL BE ACCEPTED.
