The Town of Danby is soliciting quotes from qualified engineering firms to prepare a Map, Plan, and Report (MPR) for two proposed sewer districts in accordance with New York State Town Law Article 12-A. The Town was recently awarded a $4.58M grant from the NYS DEC Water Quality Improvement Program to fund up to 75% of the construction cost of wastewater treatment and collection systems in the hamlets of Central Danby and West Danby based on the recommended alternatives in the Preliminary Engineering Report (see enclosed PER). The MPR will further evaluate the need for a centralized wastewater system in each hamlet, consider and refine solutions identified in the PER, provide cost estimates, and define both districts’ boundaries for use in potential district formation.
