A Notary Public is licensed “to serve the public as an impartial witness in performing a variety of official fraud-deterrent acts related to the signing of important documents” (National Notary Association)

If you need a document notarized, the Notary must witness you signing your document as part of verifying the document’s authenticity. A Notary may also administer an oath or affirmation, among other things.

 Please call the Clerk’s office for more information.  All signers and any required witness(es) must be present during the notarization.

Please be sure to bring a form of state issued identification as well as all materials needing to be notarized.  Please note that the Clerk’s Office/Town Hall cannot provide witnesses for notarizations.
