Memorial Day Gathering, Ceremony & Dedication at Town Hall

On Monday May 25^th, a Memorial Day gathering will take place at Town Hall. A social will begin at 11am with Civil War era music, food, and several tents full of Civil War relics. At 1pm there will be a ceremony by the Sons of Union Veterans of the Civil War and Town officials to dedicate the new National Park style informational sign for the Danby Soldiers Monument. There will then be traditional readings and ceremony to remember and honor the Union soldiers from Danby who lost their lives in the war, many whose names are commemorated on the monument. At 3pm the Town gathering will conclude with the ceremonial TAPS across America to honor all U.S. military personnel who died in service.
