First Monthly Town Board Meeting + Public Hearing
A public hearing will be held on April 7, 2026 at 6:00 PM at the Danby Town Hall, 1830 Danby Road, Ithaca, NY 14850 to consider public comments on the proposed adoption of a local law #1 of 2026 to modify the standards of the Hamlet Center and Hamlet Neighborhood Zones, and add definitions of data centers and cryptocurrency facilities and related matters.
The purpose of this Local Law is to modify the use, dimensional, and design standards of the Hamlet Center and Hamlet Neighborhood Zoning Districts so that they more closely align with the goals of the hamlets as positioned by the Town’s Comprehensive Plan and its Sustainable Hamlets Revitalization Plan, namely to encourage development in these areas of town.
Additionally, it shall be the purpose of this Local Law to define data centers and cryptocurrency facilities and otherwise take no action to include such uses within any zoning districts, thereby protecting the order, conduct, safety health and well-being of the residents of the Town who are faced with heightened risks associated with cryptocurrency facilities and data centers.
