BZA Appeal Public Hearing- Sept 9th at 6pm

PLEASE TAKE NOTICE that the Board of Zoning Appeals of the Town of Danby will hold a special meeting & public hearing on Wednesday, September 9, 2026 at 6:00 PM at the Danby Town Hall, 1830 Danby Road, Ithaca, NY 14850.

The purpose of the public hearing is to hear public testimony regarding an Interpretation Appeal filed by the West King/Yaple Neighbor Coalition. The appellant is appealing the Zoning Determination Letter dated July 23, 2026, which determined that hosting live music events at South Hill Cider (a farm cidery located at 550 Sandbank Road, Ithaca, NY, Tax Parcel ID 1.-1-3.32) as a means to attract customers, free with no admission charge, during the evening hours between 5:00 pm and 8:30 pm, and which would not generate sound levels exceeding average ambient sound levels (60 dbC during the daytime hours and 50 dbC during the nighttime hours) at the property line, constitutes a permitted agricultural use within the Rural 1 Zoning District. Public testimony, written or verbal, will be accepted in person at the Town Hall or virtually via Zoom.
